About Me

I’ve never seen design as something that starts with finishes, furniture, or perfectly styled spaces.

What draws me to this work is the moment when a space reveals itself — when layout, proportion, and everyday use begin to align, and decisions gain clarity & purpose.

I’m Nev Bilgeman, an architectural designer and interior design consultant with experience across architectural design, interiors, and project management. Over time, working on projects of different scales and contexts has shaped how I think about space, and how important clarity is before moving forward.

My Journey

My path into design has moved across architecture, interiors, and project management. Working within these overlapping roles gave me early exposure to how design decisions travel, from initial ideas to drawings, site discussions, and built outcomes.

Over more than 15 years working across architectural and interior design projects, my focus naturally shifted toward understanding how spaces function in daily life and reflect the people who use them — beyond finishes or trends. I saw firsthand how early decisions around layout, proportion, and use could quietly support a project, or just as easily complicate everything that followed.

Those experiences continue to shape how I work today: by starting with understanding the space, the people using it, and the decisions that matter most early on.

My  Approach

My approach balances creative thinking with structure and problem-solving. Much of my work focuses on helping clients establish a clear design roadmap — clarifying priorities, spatial logic, and key decisions before moving forward.

This roadmap brings order to complex choices and creates a steady reference point as a project evolves, allowing decisions to feel more intentional and grounded, whether the scope is focused or part of a larger renovation.

Outside of active projects, I’m constantly observing spaces ; how people move through them, how furniture is actually used, and how materials age and interact over time. I’m drawn to thoughtful architecture, well-designed furniture, sustainable materials and art that resonates on a human level.

These influences inform my work in subtle ways, helping create spaces that feel intentional, calm, and grounded in real life.

Working Together

I work with homeowners and with builders & contractors who value thoughtful planning, clear communication, and a collaborative approach.

My work is often most helpful at moments where direction is needed, when questions arise, options feel unclear, or decisions benefit from a steadier pace.

If this approach feels aligned, I’d be glad to connect.
