From Layout to Lifestyle!

Design clarity for how your space takes shape.

Nev Bilgeman, architectural and interior designer working in Toronto and the GTA

Design Foundations

Good design doesn’t start with drawings or finishes.
It starts with understanding how a space should function, flow, and support daily life and having a clear roadmap before decisions are made.

Whether you’re planning a renovation, refreshing a room, or rethinking your layout,
early clarity helps prevent costly and overwhelming decisions later on.

My Approach

I work using a structured approach called the Home & Spatial Design Framework — a design direction and spatial strategy approach that clarifies layout, flow, and overall design intent before moving into detailed design or construction.

My focus is on the early stages of a project, where thoughtful decisions have the greatest impact and shape everything that follows.

Most projects begin with an On-Site Design Direction Session, where priorities, spatial logic, and a clear path forward are established.

On-site Design Direction Session

A focused, in-person working session designed to clarify how your space should work —
before making major design, renovation, or purchasing decisions.

During the session, we explore:

- Spatial flow and layout logic

- Lifestyle and usage scenarios

- Furniture scale and placement approach

- Overall design direction and priorities

You’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and a practical framework to move forward.

Where This Applies:

- Main Floor/Living room refreshes

- Condo and apartment layouts

- Furniture and space planning

- Pre-renovation planning

- Small-scale home updates

Renovation or not, the focus is always on how the space is lived in.

Design Support for Builders & Contractors

Alongside homeowner projects, I collaborate with builders and contractors as on-call design support — helping bring clarity to design intent, layouts, and early concepts.
